Is It Preferable To Create Mini Sites Or Authority Sites?

The continuing query relating to authority sites or mini sites might be diminishing in relevance in sure selling circles. It is more than potential to create a minisite that has terribly specific data that is of excellent quality. However, we would always tell marketers to do what they feel is best and have a natural affinity for doing with their businesses. Whereas solely operating with a network of minisites, that approach will need a sure amount of risk and larger effort. On the other hand, promoting an authority web site, or blog, can provide the owner more freedoms and flexibility. But yes, you'll still notice ways that to make sensible cash by solely using minisites.

Authority sites and mini sites appeal to marketers with somewhat different marketing approaches. In some cases, the two can be similar, though the scale will be different.

If you wanted to target a broad range of products within a particular market, then you can accomplish that quite easily with a large authority site. Mini sites would enable you to market one specific product, but not a large variety in this niche. Which approach you decide is entirely up to you, and there are many reasons why you would want to choose one over the other. You might want to explore your options from a few different angles. Let's say you have ten mini sites and one huge site that is an authority site. But how do you get traffic to them all? You'll have to duplicate your efforts for getting traffic for each one of the ten mini sites. You will need to send traffic to the authority site, as well. However, with an authority site you can drive traffics to different pages within the same site. In other words you can leverage your time better with authority sites. You'll discover that larger sites are well known for the "stickiness" factor. It is almost impossible to make mini sites "sticky" because they have so little content.

You'll have a much faster time of establishing your credibility in your field if you have an authority site rather than a mini site. Large sites filled with helpful information are just more credible to visitors. The larger sites simply invite the assumption of authority for many people. Credibility is often established on nothing more than that. This is something that would not often happen with mini sites. That doesn't mean it never happens only that it happens rarely. The question of going with an authority site or mini site is being heavily influenced by Google, unfortunately. Mini sites still offer plenty of benefits, but you may find it a little more time consuming trying to drive traffic to them. In fact, mini sites should remain a part of any good marketing plan. But there is more to be gained by those who are creative and willing to put the work in to build a larger site.
